Google Web Search Engine
The mother of all search engines. Don't just search on simple keywords,
try searching on whole questions that come to mind or even cut-and-paste
any computer error message that you encounter but don't understand
(it has probably been explained before). Try the Image tab
(esp. advanced image search) to search for graphics and images that are
useful for papers or presentations.

Computer Newsgroups and
All Newsgroups
Internet e-bulletin boards, where one can read posted email by
others and post a response. Posted email within an individual group are
threaded together according to the email's subject email and replys
to it. Enter this newsgroup world from Google's Groups tab
(not News). Search for technical information from Groups, not
just from Web (Google's default). Post your own questions to a
newsgroup of interest only after becoming familiar with it to see if your
has been answered (warning: posting makes you an email spam target).

ACM's Portal
From the ACM portal site one can search the digital library or
the guide to computing literature. ACM "portal" members can
access full-source documents and web-based training courses.

Search through many IT articles online. There is also the
